Embassy Suites improves safety, security and brand image with LightEdison solution.
LightEdison provides model turn-key LED lighting solution for hospitality leader.
Challenge
Embassy Suites Denver Southeast is a destination hotel in the heart of the Denver DTC Business District known for its stunning brick lobby and newly remodeled atrium. Despite recent improvements to the interior lighting, the outdated legacy exterior lighting system was inadequate. The building maintenance team was plagued by frequent lamp failures that were causing safety and security concerns for guests. Additionally, the poor exterior lighting did not reflect well on the Embassy Suites brand.
Solution
LightEdison specified and installed 40 new fixtures and 10 retrofit kits; immediately improving safety and security throughout the site. By specifying correct and consistent color temperatures within the parking area, building exteriors and the main building uplight fixtures, the desired high end aesthetic was achieved. 400 watt uplight fixtures were replaced with new 160 watt fixtures. These fixtures were designed to last more than 20 years and increased delivered lumens by over 20%, allowing the goals of improved and increased security, as well as improved visual impacts to be achieved simultaneously. Overall lighting use was reduced more than 54%, even with the upsized LED fixtures and significant increases in illumination.
Results
Embassy Suites Denver Southeast has avoided paying a net $80,768 over the next 10 years. These benefits are marginal compared to increased safety and improved brand curb appeal, resulting in additional repeat and new room and event bookings.
